Description
BashCut is a native macOS video editor that coding agents can drive. Everything available in the UI can also be controlled through the bashcut CLI or MCP server, with atomic, undoable edits. It includes a layered timeline, captions, color grading, audio mixing, voiceover, transitions, export, plugins, and docked Claude Code and Codex terminals.
I used Claude Code and Codex with prompts focused on architecture, SwiftUI/AVFoundation implementation, agent-safe commands, testing, documentation, and iterative UI refinement. The hardest challenges were keeping preview and export in sync, making agent edits deterministic and undoable, handling media timing precisely, and building a plugin/skill system that works across both humans and AI agents.
