How ScratchScout Works:

Expected Value (EV)

EV tells you how much you'd expect to get back per ticket on average. A $5 ticket with -$1.50 EV means you'd expect to get back $3.50 — a loss of $1.50. The closer to $0, the better the value.

Starting vs Current EV

Starting EV is calculated from all tickets printed at launch. Current EV updates as prizes are claimed and reflects what's actually left in the game right now — it can be better or worse than the starting figure.

ROI (Return on Investment)

ROI shows the same thing as EV but as a percentage. -20% means you'd expect to get back 80 cents per dollar spent. The closer to 0%, the better.
Odds

"1 in 3.5" means roughly 1 out of every 3.5 tickets wins any prize. Current odds update as prizes are claimed.
