Description
Gridwake is a free arcade shooter you play in the browser, inspired by Geometry Wars. Fly a loop around enemies with your trail and they all pop.
I built it with Claude Code, Three.js and React over about 11 weeks. Since rewriting things is cheap now, I pivoted a lot. It was an extraction game, then a wave game with bosses, then a timed run before it became what it is now. The loop mechanic didn't even exist until a month in.
Two things that helped: when I cut a mechanic, all its code and tests go in the same commit so old stuff doesn't pile up. And a bot plays the game on a few seeds so I can check if a change made it harder or easier.
