CutoutClip

CutoutClip removes the background from a video or an animated GIF online and returns a transparent WebM with the original audio, plus ProRes 4444 MOV, transparent GIF, animated WebP, green screen and alpha matte exports. Clips up to 10 seconds are free with no signup and no watermark; longer clips up to 2 minutes are $4.99 per video, with a free 5-second preview first.

How it was built: written with Claude Code on Cloudflare Workers, D1, R2 and a container running FFmpeg for the exports; the cutout itself comes from a hosted video matting model. The hard parts were keeping audio and frame rate intact through the export pipeline, chunked uploads up to 500 MB, and a per-day cost cap so the free tier cannot run away.
